What does Trygghetsförsäkring with life protection cover?

Complete information on limitations and exclusions etc. can be found in the insurance policy terms for Zmarta Trygghetsförsäkring with life protection, which you can find here.

In short, the following applies:

Sick leave

The insurance can provide compensation if during the insurance period you are on sick leave for at least 50% due to illness or accident and are prevented from performing your work as a permanent employee, fixed-term employee or self-employed. You must not have any other income-generating work and you must be checked regularly by a licensed doctor for the illness or injury. The employment you are on sick leave from must have a working time of at least 17 hours per week, or alternatively be on sick leave from your work as a self-employed person. After that, the insurance provides compensation retroactively for the first 30 days and from day 31 with a daily compensation which corresponds to one-thirtieth (1/30) per day of the insured monthly amount as long as you are on sick leave for at least 50%, but a maximum of SEK 10,000 per month.

Significant exclusions

The insurance does not cover sick leave that is less than 50% or occurs within 30 days from the start date of the insurance. Also, it does not cover illness, medical condition or injury that you knew about within twelve months immediately before you took out the insurance or for which you received or sought advice or treatment from the health and medical services within 12 months before you took out the insurance.

The insurance also excludes, among other things:

  • sick leave due to alcohol and/or drug abuse or self-inflicted bodily harm,
  • sick leave as a result of surgical interventions and medical treatments that are not medically necessary,
  • for sick leave due to mental illness, psychological problems or stress-related illness, for example depression, stress or crisis reaction, you either need to submit a certificate proving that Försäkringskassan has approved your sick leave or a certificate issued by a specialist doctor in the field.

Involuntary unemployment

The insurance can provide compensation if during the insurance period you become involuntarily unemployed from your employer or due to bankruptcy or liquidation for self-employed persons in Sweden. In order for compensation to be provided, you must have been completely unemployed for 30 consecutive days. After that, the insurance provides compensation retroactively for the first 30 days and from day 31 with a daily compensation which corresponds to one-thirtieth (1/30) per day of the insured monthly amount as long as you are completely unemployed, but a maximum of SEK 10,000 per month.

Significant exclusions

The policy does not cover unemployment due to notice or termination that was known or should have been known to you when you applied for coverage or unemployment due to termination of which you have been notified within 120 days of the start date of the policy or unemployment that is voluntarily caused.

For self-employed persons, unemployment insurance does not apply if grounds for the company's bankruptcy or liquidation existed when the insurance was taken out or within the first 120 days from taking out the insurance.

The insurance also excludes, among other things:

  • that the employment ends on grounds other than dismissal from the employer due to lack of work or because the company ceases to exist, e.g.
    • termination due to natural resignation or fixed-term employment ending at an agreed time,
    • that you have committed an illegal act.
    • unemployment for you as a fixed-term employee if you have worked for less than 24 months for the same employer

In order for compensation to be provided due to a Serious Illness, AXA must obtain a medical certificate showing that you have been diagnosed or treated for a Serious Illness. You must also provide AXA with other documents and information that AXA can reasonably request in order to make a decision on the right to compensation.

You may also be entitled to compensation for sick leave according to these insurance conditions in addition to compensation for Serious Illness.

See full terms and conditions for exclusions.

Death

In the event of death, the insurance pays a lump sum of SEK 100,000 to your estate.

See full terms and conditions for exclusions.

You are also obliged to provide correct and complete answers to the questions that are put to you when joining the insurance, when renewing and changing and when settling claims. If, during the insurance period, you find out something that could be of importance to the insurance, you must notify the insurer of this without delay. Failure to fulfill the obligation to provide information and to certify incorrect information may result in insurance compensation not being paid or being paid with a lower amount than what was agreed. Autogiro terms

In connection with taking out Zmarta's group insurance Trygghetsförsäkring, you need to consent to these conditions for Autogiro (direct debit) so that the insurance premium can be paid. Payment is made to bank giro 5120-0210 and the recipient is the insurance company AXA France Vie Sweden branch (org. no. 516411-5080) with the name AXA. The question you will be asked about Autogiro consent, when you decide to sign up for the insurance, reads: "Do you accept the Autogiro terms and allow Autogiro withdrawal for your Trygghetsförsäkring?".

Generally

Autogiro is a payment service which means that payments are made from the payer's account at the initiative of the payee. In order for the payer to be able to pay via Autogiro, the payer must give its consent to the payee that it may initiate payments from the payer's account. In addition, the payer's payment service provider (e.g. bank or payment institution) must approve that the account can be used for Autogiro and the payee must approve the payer as a Autogiro user. The payer's payment service provider is not obliged to test the authorization of or notify the payer in advance of requested withdrawals.

Withdrawals are debited to the payer's account according to the rules applicable at the payer's payment service provider. The payer receives notification of withdrawals from their payment service provider. The consent can be transferred at the payer's request to another account with the payment service provider or to an account with another payment service provider.

Definition of bank day

Bank day means any day except Saturday, Sunday, Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve or other public holiday.

Payment information

The payer will be notified by the payee of the amount, due date and method of payment no later than eight banking days before the due date. This can be announced before each individual due date or at one time regarding several future due dates.

If the notification refers to several future due dates, the notification must be submitted no later than eight banking days before the first due date. However, this does not apply to cases where the payer has approved the withdrawal in connection with the purchase or order of goods or services. In such a case, the payer receives notification from the payee about the amount, due date and method of payment in connection with the purchase and/or order. By this consent, the payer gives its consent to payments that are covered by the payee's notification according to this point being carried out.

Coverage must be available on the account

The payer must ensure that coverage is available on the account no later than 00:01 on the due date. If the payer does not have coverage on the account on the due date, this may mean that payments will not be made. If there is no coverage for payment on the due date, the payee may make additional withdrawal attempts during the coming banking days. If payment is not made, there is a risk that the insurance will be cancelled. The payer can, on request, receive information from the payee about the number of withdrawal attempts.

Stop payment (revocation of payment order)

The payer may stop a payment by contacting either the payee no later than two banking days before the due date or its payment service provider no later than the banking day before the due date at the time specified by the payment service provider.

If the payer stops a payment as described above, this means that the current payment is stopped on a single occasion. If the payer wants all future payments initiated by the payee to be stopped, the payer must revoke the consent.

Validity period of consent, revocation

The consent is valid until further notice. The payer has the right to withdraw consent at any time by contacting the payee or their payment service provider. In order to stop payments that have not yet been completed, the notice of revocation of consent must be received by the payee no later than five banking days before the due date, alternatively the payer's payment service provider must be received by the payer's payment service provider no later than the banking day before the due date at the time specified by the payment service provider.

The right of the payee and the payer's payment service provider to terminate the Autogiro connection

The payee has the right to terminate the payer's connection to Autogiro thirty days after the payee has notified the payer of this. However, the payee has the right to immediately terminate the payer's connection to Autogiro if the payer has repeatedly not had sufficient account balance on the due date or if the account to which the consent relates is closed or if the payee judges that the payer should not participate in Autogiro for another reason. The payer's payment service provider has the right to terminate the payer's Autogiro connection in accordance with the conditions that apply between the payer's payment service provider and the payer.
