How does Zmarta work?
Zmarta is a loan intermediary licensed by Finansinspektionen, the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority. You send one application, we forward it to banks and lenders we work with, and you get back the offers they choose to make. Only one credit check is made, however many lenders respond. You always decide yourself whether to accept an offer.
1. Send your application
2. Compare your offers
3. Choose – or decline
Can I get a loan in Sweden if I'm not Swedish?
Yes, if you live in Sweden and meet the lenders' basic requirements. Most lenders don’t require citizenship for loans in Sweden. What matters is that you are registered in the Swedish population register (folkbokförd), have a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer) and an income of at least SEK 100,000 a year.
Each lender then makes its own credit assessment. Some lenders may also look at how long you have lived in Sweden or the type of employment you have.
Good to know before you apply:
Our customer support speaks English.
Loan amounts are applied for in Swedish krona SEK.
Why compare loans before you choose?
Because otherwise you do not know whether you are paying more than you need to. Banks and lenders make their own risk assessments, so the same person can get different interest rates and terms from different lenders. Applying to each bank separately takes time and usually means a new credit check every time. Through Zmarta you see several offers side by side with one credit check.
More than half of those who receive offers through Zmarta get offers from more than one bank – almost always at different interest rates.
Based on loan applications through zmarta.se over the past twelve months.
What does it cost to use Zmarta?
Nothing. Comparing and applying is free and you are not obliged to accept any offer. Zmarta receives compensation from the bank or lender you choose to borrow from, once the loan is paid out.
Zmarta works with a selected panel of banks and lenders and does not compare every lender on the market.
